Social Impact Exchange members access services and participate in initiatives through working groups, regional gatherings and an annual conference, and online through this interactive website that includes a contribution platform and knowledge center. Initiatives and services include:
Facilitating Collaborative Funding
Members can participate in co-funding evidence-based scaling initiatives.
- Working Groups – funder collaboratives that fund scaling initiatives and establish markets in specific geographies and fields e.g. health and education.
- Contribution Center - an online clearinghouse of well-vetted scaling initiatives.
- “Scaling in Action” Investment Fair - Members hear presentations at the Annual Conference by high-impact scaling nonprofits.
- Social Impact Business Plan Competition - a competition that identifies scale-ready nonprofits and provides them with financial and consulting awards.
- Annual Conference - a national gathering to network, share knowledge, learn about scaling initiatives. See highlights from 2011 Conference.
Developing & Sharing Knowledge
- Knowledge Center – a library of articles, cases and research on scaling
- Tools & Templates – used in evaluating, planning and funding scaling efforts.
- Learning Through Case Studies – a library of case studies on scaling impact
- Training & Education – through webinars, regional meetings, and conferences.
- Knowledge Dissemination – articles and reports distributed to members.
Building Marketplace Infrastructure
Members establish infrastructure for a capital marketplace to emerge:
- Develop Common Standards – for due diligence, investor information, and performance reporting.
- Create Distribution Channels – to share scaling initiatives to thousands of funders and donors.
- Develop New Products – for scaling proven solutions.
- Support Intermediaries – that scale nonprofits in specific cities and issues.
